Surface Laptop Studio
Microsoft has announced its new Surface Laptop Studio, completely redesigned from what can be considered its predecessor. In line with previous rumors putting aside the detachable display, the new Laptop Studio has a 14.4-inch PixelSense panel (2400 x 1600 pixels) with support up to 120Hz and Dolby Vision, capable of tilting on the keyboard for be used as a tablet (Studio mode).
The most powerful Surface device ever designed by Microsoft and available for both consumer and business users. Retaining the style of the Surface devices we've enjoyed and loved in recent years, the newcomer offers the power of a desktop PC, the convenience of a laptop, and a true creative studio.
The new Surface Laptop Studio is based on Windows 11 platform and it integrates a 14.4-inch PixelSense display with Dolby Vision support and a 120 Hz refresh rate. This is obviously a touch panel, which guarantees full compatibility with the new Surface Slim Pen 2 for drawing and freehand writing. The Surface Laptop Studio weighs about 1.8Kg and has a thickness of just under 2cm and, unlike the Surface Book, Microsoft has moved most of the hardware components to the base where there is an obvious cooling system.
Surface Laptop Studio can connect to dual 4K monitors via Thunderbolt 4, and also it also integrated into two USB 4 ports located on the sides, useful among other things for connecting external monitors with resolution up to 4K and equipped with 11th generation quad-core Intel Core H35 i5-11300H processor (or H35 i7-11370H depending on the version), up to 32 GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 2 TB of SSD storage space (available even the cuts from 256 GB, 512 GB and 1TB).
Surface Laptop Studio supports three modes
The Surface Laptop Studio supports three modes (laptop, stage, and studio).
- In Laptop: The former organizes the display like a normal laptop, with a full keyboard and touchpad with haptic feedback.
- In stage mode, the display is brought forward to an ideal angle for gaming, streaming or presentations.
- In Studio mode, both the keyboard and track pad are covered and you can use the display with your fingers or, more comfortably, via the Surface Slim Pen 2.
