Notepad with Dark Mode Comes to Windows 11

Microsoft today rolls out the new redesigned Notepad for Windows 11 to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel, along with this it will also experience some small design changes which include a completely updated UI that aligns with the new visual design of Windows 11, including rounded corners, Mica, and more.

Notepad has now become the most popular application in the Windows operating system for a long time and until now, the application is still available to Windows 11 as the default text editor application. However recently Microsoft has been testing a new version of Notepad designed for Windows 11. The Notepad application comes with a UI design that integrates with Windows 11 and also presents a Dark Mode feature. Currently, the latest version of the Notepad can be tried by Windows 11 users who entered the Insiders program especially Dev Channel. The Windows 11 build that comes with this new Notepad version is 22509.

According to Microsoft;

Our favorite new feature is dark mode. This has been a top community ask, and we hope you love this gorgeous new theme as much as we do. By default, Notepad will adapt to your system theme preferences, but you can change this option yourself in the brand-new settings page which is the new home for font options as well. To help you be more productive, we are introducing a redesigned find and replace experience and are also adding support for multi-level undo – another top community feature request.

This must be good news since Microsoft hasn't brought out a Ul update for Notepad since the Windows Vista era. Whereas many users often use Notepad for various purposes. Unfortunately no other added features other than the visuals. Whereas many users who want the Notepad application can come with features such as Tabbing to auto-save when the application suddenly closed and has not been saved.

  1. Open Notepad application.
  2. Click on the settings to the top right side.
  3. A new menu will display.
  4. Now Click on App Theme and select dark mode.
